The middle is by far my favorite of Bernini’s; the hands seem so fixated on by contemporary art aficionados; the push into plush skin, the delicate veins running through the hand. The delicate and gentle beauties of the hands make Bernini’s interpretation and exemplification of the Hesiod myth all the more tender and fascinating.
